Wets vs. Drys: Lorain During Prohibition *SOLD OUT*

While enjoying tea and coffee, visitors will experience the full Moore House tour and learn how Lorain and Ohio responded to prohibition.  Do you know how many bars closed in Lorain because of prohibition?

Each room of the Moore House will have a different theme including the story of how prohibition was started, who was for (the wets) or against (the drys), immigrants, breweries in Lorain and rumrunning/speakeasies in Lorain.

This event begins at 3 pm at the Moore House Museum, located at 309 W. 5th St. in Lorain.  The Moore House Museum is handicap accessible only on the 1st floor.  This program has limited availability, so reservations are recommended by calling (440) 245-2563 or by sending an e-mail to [email protected]. Note: A $5 admission charge (payable at the door) applies to all programs and exhibits at the Moore House Museum and the Carnegie Center.
